It is a source of life, culture, and work. It is a means of connection, communication, exchange, and interaction among people. Food is at the heart of our desires and our relationships, and the very development of our societies depends on its future.
Ten years after Expo 2015—the event that marked a turning point in global interest in food-related issues and our country’s role on the international stage—Cariplo Factory aims to help reignite the debate on the future of human nutrition through its fifth annual report.
“Next-Gen Food | Il futuro del cibo, il cibo del futuro” will compile the stories and testimonials of innovative Italian startups and SMEs that are actively working to transform the way we produce, consume, and recycle food through proven ideas and solutions.

All Italian startups and innovative SMEs operating in any sector of the food supply chain, with a TRL of 5 or higher, are eligible to participate in the Cariplo Factory report.
To participate, simply complete the questionnaire by March 13, 2026. All data collected will be processed in accordance with applicable regulations and analyzed in aggregate form.

The final selection of participating companies will be made by Cariplo Factory experts based on compliance with the participation criteria and potential synergies with the rest of the supply chain.
The aim of the report is to raise awareness of and highlight the most innovative and dynamic companies operating in the food sector, fostering collaboration and the exchange of ideas with the industrial, financial, and institutional sectors.
